Food Safety Working Group
About the Working Group:
The increasing member interest in food safety issues resulted in the formation of a Food Safety Working Group in February 2011.
On April 5, 2011, Michael R. Taylor, Deputy Commissioner for Foods at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) joined the Food Safety Working Group at their second meeting and provided insight into current issues for stakeholders. At the conclusion of the meeting, the members agreed to draft and send a letter to the FDA Commissioner outlining the Working Group’s general concerns and expectations with respect to the implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act.
