Committee Overview
The Telecommunications & E-Commerce Committee develops U.S. Chamber policy relating to telecommunications, the Internet and e-commerce, broadcasting and mass media, and data security and privacy. Participation on the committee allows U.S. Chamber members to develop and implement these policies and interact with other members of the regulated community. The committee hosts two formal, full membership meetings each year, in the spring and in the fall, as well as many smaller, issue-specific meetings.
Outdated laws and regulations impede U.S. technological innovation and deployment that are so vital to the U.S. economy. The U.S. Chamber promotes market-based solutions, policies that foster investment in technology research and deployment, and balanced regulatory treatment of technical platforms.
U.S. Chamber Board member Tom Tauke, Verizon, chairs the committee.
