Washington, D.C. Could Learn a Lot From North Dakota

In North Dakota, Democrats and Republicans, government and business, and citizens from all walks of life have come together to safely and responsibly develop the state’s vast energy resources to everyone’s benefit.

That’s leadership. And that’s success. Why can’t Washington do the same?

The U.S. Chamber is working in Washington and across the country to spur an American energy revolution that will create millions of jobs, boost economic growth, generate trillions in government revenue to reduce our debt, and decrease our reliance on foreign sources.

To lead, Washington should:

• Allow access to federal lands and waters that are off limits for exploration
• Streamline the lengthy and burdensome federal permitting process
• Stop overreaching regulations that stifle investment
• Develop all sources of energy, as well as promote greater efficiency

North Dakota is leading the way.
It’s time for Washington to follow.
