Business and Society Relations

The Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) helps businesses understand the potential impact of the current state of business and society relations.

Many companies are increasingly concerned about the decline in trust and, at the same time, recognize the value of building stronger relationships with key stakeholders, such as customers, employees, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and shareholders.

BCLC facilitates collaboration among the business, government, and civic sectors to advance better understanding of the positive role the business sector plays in society.

BCLC focuses on:

  • Documenting corporate citizenship trends across the United States
  • Researching stakeholder attitudes toward the U.S. business community
  • Helping businesses understand the implications of current issues, such as CSR, corporate governance, nonprofit management, supply chain management, waning trust in the private sector,  interest group activity, and many other topics
