Securing Our Businesses Protecting Our Customers
"Securing Our Businesses; Protecting Our Customers" is part of a nationwide effort to help businesses understand current requirements for proper handling of customer data and reducing card-related fraud. This is the second year that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Visa USA have partnered in this effort, which has received positive attention from both media and policymakers.
If your business accepts credit card or debit card payments, you as the business owner are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming educational seminars on the issue of data security. It is important for merchants and businesses alike to understand what measures need to be taken every day to ensure the security of highly sensitive personal financial information. Additionally, legislation is being introduced across the country at both the federal and state level in response to data security compromises, making it important for you as a merchant to stay informed.
At each forum held across the country, experts on the issue from Visa will be on hand to provide an overview of the extensive efforts and financial resources the industry has already committed to combating the problem and steps businesses can take to protect cardholder information. An update on pending legislation will also be given by the U.S. Chamber.
