The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development will host Alaska's largest job fair for Veterans and Military Spouses on Friday, November 8, 2013.  The event will be held at the University Center Mall, 3801 Old Seward Highway in Anchorage from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with 135 participating employment, training and service providers. 

Highlights include job coach workshops courtesy of the Alaska Society of Human Resources Management and a computer lab hosted by UAA for on-line applications and last minute resume tweaking. The job fair is open to active duty, transitioning service members, military spouses and veterans.
Because of our generous sponsors including Morris Alaska, University of Alaska, Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Sadler’s Home Furnishings and Princess Cruises & Tours, and other local partners there is no fee for employers.  Registration is required as space is limited.  

Employers from the 2012 event offered provisional/conditional job offers to 93 veterans and predicted an additional 450 hires.  We’re hoping for the same success this year!  Employers interested in participating may contact the Business Connection at the Anchorage Job Center at 907-269-4777 or email us at anchorage.employers@alaska.gov
