Join us April 12, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a job fair for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses at the Bossier Civic Center, 620 Benton Road Bossier City, LA.

This event will be a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for both employers and job seekers.

There will also be a transition workshop from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Bossier Civic Center. The workshop is FREE to all veterans and military spouses.

This hiring event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Bossier and Shreveport Chambers of Commerce, Office of the Mayor, Bossier City, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the American Legion, the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment & Training Service (DOL VETS), the Louisiana Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), Louisiana Workforce Commission, NBC News, and other local partners.

Hiring Our Heroes Employment Workshop

The Hiring Our Heroes employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning one hour prior to the hiring fair followed by HR professionals conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered participants.  Mentoring sessions focus on resume building; resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veteran and service member participants.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate.  A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop.  Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the fair (depending on availability).  Please sign up here.
