Thank you for joining us November 16, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a job fair for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, guard and reserve members, and military spouses at the Crown Center, 1960 Coliseum Drive, Fayetteville, NC. Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer was in attendance to share his experience with job seekers. Sgt. Meyer is the first living Marine in 38 years to receive the nation’s highest award for valor. Hiring Our Heroes, Sgt. Meyer, and Toyota are working together on the Personal Branding initiative, designed to help military veterans and transitioning service members better market themselves to employers. Part of the initiative is helping veterans to share their stories and experience, something that Sgt. Meyer does in his new book Into the Fire.

This event was a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for both employers and job seekers.

This Toyota-sponsored hiring event was conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the North Carolina Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), the North Carolina Chamber, the Give an Hour/The Community Blueprint Network, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The American Legion, NBC News, and other local partners.
