Fort Bragg, NC Wounded Warrior Event
Date Event: June 13, 2012
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Hiring Our Heroes partnered with Hire Heroes USA and the USO to present this Career Opportunity Day for wounded, ill, and injured servicemembers, their spouses, and their caregivers in Fort Bragg on June 13th. The event was held at the the Fort Bragg Club.
Career Opportunity Days are non-traditional career fairs. Employers are connected directly with wounded, ill or injured servicemembers through a mutual interest in the employer’s industry or the wounded warrior’s military background. Desired geographic location of servicemembers and employers is also considered in the matching process. Employers conduct onsite interviews with participants who are matched to employer needs and a servicemember's skills and employment goals.
Career Opportunity Days are limited to about 20 private and public employers and 75-100 wounded, ill, or injured military servicemembers transitioning to civilian careers. All military members in attendance had already attended employment and transition preparation workshops unless they are attending as a walk-in registrant the day of the event.
