Join us Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Fort Indiantown Gap Armory for Hiring Our Heroes – Fort Indiantown Gap, PA. This FREE event is open to veteran job seekers, active duty military, members of the National Guard and reserve components, and military spouses. Employers will have jobs available across all sectors.

This University of Phoenix sponsored employment event is a being conducted by U.S. Chamber of Commerce; the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry; the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment & Training Service (DOL VETS); Pennsylvania Committee, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR); the Pennsylvania National Guard; the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; The American Legion; NBC News, and other local partners.

Hiring Our Heroes Employment Workshop

The Hiring Our Heroes employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning one hour prior to the hiring fair followed by HR professionals conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered participants.  Mentoring sessions focus on resume building; resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veteran and service member participants.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate.  A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop.  Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the Fair (depending on availability).  Please sign up here.

Hiring Our Heroes has launched an online partnership with Military.com to complement our face to face hiring fair efforts across the country.  Veterans can get help writing resumes and interview tips; translating military skills, experience, and training into related civilian careers; and finding current lists of employment opportunities with military-friendly employers.
