This hiring event, sponsored by Lockheed Martin Corporation; Capital One; University of Phoenix; and the Maryland Committee, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve; is conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation; the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment & Training Service (DOL VETS); Maryland Committee, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR); the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; NBC News; local Chambers of Commerce, and other local partners.
A workshop for veterans and other military job seekers that focuses on resume writing, tips for successfully navigating hiring fairs, military skill translation, and interviewing will start at 11:00 a.m. To register for the Hiring Our Heroes Employment Workshop, visit hohworks.eventbrite.com

Note: The location of this hiring event has changed from the Captain Smathers Army Reserve Center to the above location at Joint Base Andrews (itself formerly known as Andrews Air Force Base). Employers, please forward information on attendees to emunoz@uschamber.com to ensure base access. Detailed information about base access, which entrance to the base to use, and additional day-of-event planning factors will be sent to preregistered attendees and employers. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged for job seekers, as base access on the day of the event will be limited to military ID holders and preregistered job seekers.

University of Phoenix Employment Workshop
The University of Phoenix employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning one hour prior to the hiring fair followed by HR professionals conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered participants. Mentoring sessions focus on resume building; resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veteran and service member participants.
Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate. A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop. Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the Fair (depending on availability).
