Fort Bragg, NC Wounded Warrior Event

Thank you for  joining the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes, USO Warrior and Family Care, and HireHeroesUSA on August 30, 2012 between 8 am and 2 pm for an employment initiatives for a Career Opportunity Day hiring event.  Wounded, ill, and injured transitioning servicemembers, veterans, caregivers and spouses were welcome to attend.  Only employers with active employment opportunities were invited.  The event was held at the Fort Bragg Club.

Career Opportunity Days are non-traditional career fairs.  In addition to a traditional career fair exhibit hall, employers are connected directly with wounded, ill or injured servicemembers through a mutual interest in the employer’s industry or the wounded warrior’s military background. These connections are scheduled throughout the day based on job seeker resumes and employer job descriptions.  The desired geographic location of servicemembers and employers is also considered when onsite staff schedule these individualized job seeker – employer connection meetings. 

Career Opportunity Days are limited to about 15 private and public employers and 40-75 wounded, ill, or injured military servicemembers transitioning to civilian careers.  All military members in attendance will have received transition preparation workshops unless they are attending as a walk-in registrant the day of the event.
