Join us Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, 2300 North Cameron Street, for Hiring Our Heroes – Harrisburg, PA. This free hiring event is open to veteran job seekers, active duty military, members of the National Guard and reserve components, and military spouses. Employers will be actively recruiting for currently available jobs available across all sectors.

This University of Phoenix sponsored employment event is a being conducted by U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry; the Department of Labor Veterans' Employment & Training Service (DOL VETS); Pennsylvania Committee, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR); Pennsylvania National Guard Employment Outreach; the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; The American Legion; NBC News, and other local partners.

An employment workshop aimed at helping veterans and transitioning service members leverage military experience to achieve civilian career goals will begin at 9:00 a.m.

University of Phoenix Employment Workshop

The University of Phoenix employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning one hour prior to the hiring fair followed by HR professionals conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered participants.  Mentoring sessions focus on resume building; resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veteran and service member participants.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate.  A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop.  Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the Fair (depending on availability).  Please sign up here.
