The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes initiative, in partnership with the Tennessee Veterans’ Business Association hosted the 3rd Annual Business and Education Showcase on January 29, 2013 at the Knoxville Convention Center.  The U.S. Chamber  of Commerce and the Tennessee Veterans’ Business Association were committed to making this one-of–a-kind career opportunity expo a win-win for employers and veteran/military spouse job seekers.

Event highlights in addition to the hiring fair included panel discussions and break sessions centering on such topics as: “Understanding your VA Education Benefits;" “Marketing your Business in the Digital Space;" “Utilizing Social Media in your Job Search;" “Employing Veterans and Indentifying the Challenges;" “Everything you Ever Wanted to Know About Starting a Business;" to name a few.   Please click here to download the complete agenda.

Hiring Our Heroes has launched an online partnership with Military.com to complement our face to face hiring fair efforts across the country.  Veterans can get help writing resumes and interview tips; translating military skills, experience, and training into related civilian careers; and finding current lists of employment opportunities with military-friendly employers.
