The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes hiring fair, scheduled for September 7, 2012, at Midland National Guard Armory in Michigan, was committed to making this one-of–a-kind free hiring fair a win-win for employers and veteran/military spouse job seekers.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes hiring fair was co-sponsored locally by Midland Area, Saginaw County, Bay Area, Dearborn Area and Detroit Regional Chambers of Commerce, State of Michigan Veterans Division, Great Lakes Bay Region Michigan Works!, Michigan National Guard, the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR), the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The American Legion, United States Army Reserve, and the Guard Support Center.

Resume Writing and Interview Skills Workshop
Free resume writing and interview skills workshops was held on August 23 and September 6 at the Midland VFW, 3013 Bay City Rd., Midland, MI, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Learn how to develop a professional resume, dress for success, answer those tough interview questions as well as the application do’s and don’ts. This project was supported by members of the Veterans Community Outreach Team, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Delta College, and Human Resource Professionals from local employers.
