Join us May 14, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for a job fair for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members and military spouses, at  the Ogden Marriott Hotel, 247 24th Street, Ogden, UT. This event will be a one-of-a-kind “FREE” hiring fair for both employers and job seekers. Free parking also provided.

Veteran’s benefits providers will also be available to answer questions and provide assistance. 

This University of Phoenix  sponsored hiring event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Utah Veterans and Military Employment Coalition, the Utah Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), the Utah Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the Utah Department of Workforce Services, the Salt Lake, Davis, and Ogden-Weber Chambers of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Labor's Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, NBC News, and many other local partners.

Resume and Interview skills workshop May 7th at the Ogden Marriott Hotel from 8-5. Please note that sessions may be broken up into 2 sessions; 8-12 and 1-5.

An employment assistance workshop for veterans and other military job seekers that focuses on resume writing, tips for successfully navigating hiring fairs, military skills translation, and interviewing will start at 10:00 am.

University of Phoenix Employment Workshop

The University of Phoenix employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning one hour prior to the hiring fair followed by HR professionals conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered participants.  Mentoring sessions focus on resume building; resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veteran and service member participants.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate.  A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop.  Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the Fair (depending on availability).
