Join us May 24, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM for a hiring fair for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses at The American Legion, Post 8, 520 S. Pierre Street, Pierre, SD 57501. This event will be a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for both employers and job seekers.

Employers and job seekers are strongly encouraged to pre-register for FREE. Walk-ins are welcome but space is not guaranteed.

This American Legion/University of Phoenix co- sponsored event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation, the South Dakota Committee for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), NBC News, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and other local partners.

University of Phoenix Employment Workshop

The University of Phoenix employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning at noon followed by HR professionals  conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered participants.  Mentoring sessions focus on resume building, resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veteran and service member participants.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate.  A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop.  Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the Fair (depending on availability).  Please sign up here.
