CWP Workforce Academy Project in Its Second Year

Phase II of the Workforce Academy project is actively underway.  Chambers in Jackson, Mo; Helena and Bozeman, Mont.; and Clarksville, Tenn., have hosted initial academies.  Oregon’s North Clackamas County Chamber is scheduled to host its first academy on July 31.  Business Roundtables have been formed on such issues as education reform, management training, and small business learning consortia.  CWP is discussing the expansion of the Academy Model with a number of chambers around the country.  For more information, please contact Scott Cheney at 202-887-3441 or scheney@uschamber.com.

Give Your Input

CWP needs your help.  If you haven’t done so already, please take 15 to 25 minutes to complete the Workforce Development Needs Assessment Survey.  This survey, a part of the WINs initiative, will ascertain chambers’ interests and activities in key workforce development areas.  Your input will assist CWP’s efforts in meeting chamber workforce development needs.  Please download the survey and fax the completed document to 202-463-5308.  Thank you!

'C3 Career Fair' Brochure

The Chamber-Job Corps Partnership’s brochure -- C3 Career Fairs -- is based on promising practices and lessons learned during the second year of the CWP-National Job Corps Office Partnership project.  It highlights the keys to co-sponsoring a successful community career fair.  The critical  Cs in your community are the community workforce systems, local chambers and community colleges.  A C3 Career Fair is designed to help business find the qualified applicants it needs and to inform business about the local education and resource services available to assist them in this effort.  The brochure was sent to each member chamber in June.  Call 202-463-5525 for additional copies.

Employer Intermediaries Featured at Nashville DOL Conference
