National Work
Readiness Credential

Work Readiness is Creating Value

Work Readiness means being able to add value in frontline jobs in entry level workplaces. Adding Value yields better customer experiences, enhanced business growth, and increased employee opportunity.

To add value, jobseekers and current employees must be able to build relationships with peers, managers, and customers. Building these Value Creating Relationships requires an integrated standard of communication, interpersonal, decision-making, and learning skills.

The National Work Readiness Credential is a simple and easy-to-use standard and assessment tool of the Value Creating Relationship skills.

Human resource professionals now have a tool to gather consistent information about how skills are applied to real world situations.

Frontline managers have a simple guide for providing coaching around key skills that is easy to understand.

The National Work Readiness Council is scaling the use of the credential nation-wide, please call us at 1-800-761-0907 to become an assessment site or to find one near you.

The Assessment
To measure value creating relationship skills, the web-based assessment uses real world scenarios in four modules:  situational judgment, oral language, read with understanding and use math to solve problems—which can be completed separately or all together.

Our real world scenarios are created by aligning the following value creating sub-skills with key entry-level tasks to produce questions that get at an individual's ability to succeed in today's entry-level workplace and global economy.

1. Speak so others can understand
2. Listen actively
3. Solve problems and make decisions
4. Cooperate with others
5. Resolve conflicts and negotiate
6. Observe critically
7. Take responsibility for learning
8. Read with understanding
9. Use math to solve problems

Currently, there are 66 assessment sites operating in 18 states. To date more than 1000 individuals have completed all four tests to be considered for the credential.

If you want to learn how to become an assessment site or are interested in finding the closest assessment site near you, visit http://www.workreadiness.com/ or call 1-800-761-0907.
