ICW's Community Competitiveness Award recognizes a community for an established public-private partnership that works to advance the global competitiveness of its region.

ELIGIBILITY
The award is granted to a community that has an established public-private partnership. This partnership must have existed for at least 12 months (as of June 18, 2008). Also, the partnership must consist of a chamber of commerce, trade association or corporation that is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as well as one of the following organizations: chamber of commerce, trade association, school district, workforce board, corporation, and/or similar organizations. Past recipients are not eligible to apply.
A public organization is defined as, but not limited to, a mayor's office, school district, workforce board, city council, school board, community and technical college, or four-year public higher education institution.
A private organization is defined as, but not limited to, a chamber of commerce, trade association, business, economic development organization, career college, or for-profit training provider.
To be considered for ICW's Community Competitiveness Award, community partners must exemplify initiatives that:
- Promote public and private sector cooperation in education and workforce development that leads to sustainable outcomes.
- Enhance the communities in which employees learn, work, and live.
- Build relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Take a proactive role in regional education, workforce and economic development issues.
Deadline for all applications is Wednesday, June 18, 2008, 5:00 p.m. ET. The awards will be presented on October 21, 2008 during ICW's Education and Workforce Summit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
SUBMISSION PROCESS
Applicants must complete this form and write the accompanying essay. Email the completed form to icwsummit@uschamber.com. Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, June 18, at 5:00 p.m. ET.
SELECTION PROCESS
A select committee of judges will determine the award finalists. The list of finalists will be submitted to ICW's Board of Directors, which will then select a winner. The judges will be thought leaders with backgrounds in business, education and training, government, and economic development.

RECOGNITION
The winning community will be asked to provide photographs and other information to be used during the Awards presentation and in related promotional materials. The winning community will be recognized on the ICW website, at the ICW Education and Workforce Summit, during the ICW November 2008 Monthly Call, in the 2008 ICW Annual Report, and in related press announcements.
