China Grassroots

China Business Initiative

March 27, 2008 – Congressman Geoff Davis and Deputy Chief of Mission Xie Feng meet at China Business in the Greater Cincinnati Area.

June 1, 2006 - PRC Ambassador Zhou Wenzhong and Senator Chuck Hagel meet at China Business 2006 in Omaha, Nebraska.

November 1, 2007 – Governor Jim Gibbons of Nevada delivers remarks at China Business in Las Vegas.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce China Business 2008 initiative offers a series of forums outside of Washington for discussions on small and mediumsize business opportunities in the China market.

This ten city tour pairs U.S. business executives and academics who have on-the-ground business experience in China with local government leaders, private sector representatives, and community officials. The goal of the forums is to support closer U.S.-China commercial ties and highlight export and investment opportunities in China for U.S. companies.

Conducted in partnership with TradeRoots and local chambers of commerce and sponsored by Las Vegas Sands, the U.S. Chamber's China business forum features senior Chinese Embassy officials, including Chinese Ambassador to the United States, Zhou Wenzhong, executives from the American Chambers in China, and other China business experts. Beyond providing an overview of the business climate in China, these forums are intended to provide hands-on information on such topics as finding suitable partners, licensing, sales and marketing, distribution and trading, customs clearance, and regulatory issues.
