AmChams in China

The following cities in Greater China have robust Chambers of Commerce and are an integral part of the Chamber's outreach to this critical and dynamic area.  While these Chambers are part of our network, each one is run as an independent organization.

Beijing

The American Chamber of Commerce in the People's Republic of China (AmCham-China) represents U.S. companies and individuals doing business in China.  AmCham-China's membership comprises more than 2,500 individuals from more than 1,200 companies. It has more than 20 industry- and issue-specific forums and committees, offers unique services such as the Business Visa Program, holds a wide range of networking and informational events, and meets with US and Chinese officials to discuss challenges facing US firms doing business in China.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AmCham-China have jointly hired Skye Mathieson as a liaison between the two offices.

Shanghai


The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (AmCham Shanghai) is a non-partisan, non-profit business organization established in 1915. It is the third overseas American chamber to operate worldwide, established only three years after the founding of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. AmCham Shanghai was resurrected in 1987 after a break of 38 years, and is the largest AmCham in the Asia Pacific Region.
AmCham Shanghai represents 1,500 companies and 3,600 individual members and is growing by an average of 80 new members per month. We are committed to the principles of free trade, open markets, private enterprise and the unrestricted flow of information.

Vision: The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai strives to be the leading international business association in China.

Mission: We support the success of our members by promoting a healthy business environment in China, strengthening U.S.-China commercial ties and providing high-quality business information and resources.

South China (Guangzhou)


The American Chamber of Commerce in South China is a non-partisan, non-profit business organization, certified in 1995 by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C.   AmCham South China has more than 830 corporate and individual members, and represents over 700 American and international companies doing business in South China.

The mission of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China is to promote the development of trade, commerce and investment between the United States and the People's Republic of China with a special focus on South China; to provide a forum in which member businesses can identify their common interests and discuss solutions for common problems; to work with and advocate member interests with relevant organizations in South China and elsewhere in China, and the United States and to set the standards for corporate social responsibility for the community that the Chamber serves.

Tianjin


The American Chamber of Commerce-Greater Tianjin Branch (AmCham Tianjin) is the first organization representing American business interests in the Greater Tianjin area. The purpose of AmCham Tianjin is to help ensure the success of American businesses in Tianjin China. AmCham provides business opportunities to network with other business people, to gain business information, to discuss issues and provide a platform from which to build a positive relationship with the Tianjin government.

Hong Kong, SAR


The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong - one of the largest American Chambers outside the US, the largest international chamber in Hong Kong and the most dynamic and influential international business organization in the Asia-Pacific region.

Taipei, Taiwan

The American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (AmCham) is a non-profit, non-partisan business organization dedicated to promoting the interests of international business in the Republic of China. In the 50-plus years since its founding, AmCham has become the largest, most effective business organization in Taiwan. With more than 900 members representing more than 500 companies, AmCham speaks with collective authority on international business matters in every sector of the economy.
