Energy

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is committed, through its Energy Institute and International Division, to robust engagement in the area of U.S.-China energy and environmental cooperation. As the world's two largest consumers of energy, the interests of the U.S. and China are deeply intertwined on this issue of global importance.

Through its China Energy Initiative, the Chamber leverages its unique position in U.S. industry to:

  • Address long-term challenges such as energy security and climate change, as well as facilitate solutions to shorter-term priorities such as regulatory harmonization, tariff reduction, and technology transfer;
  • Support bilateral efforts like the Strategic Economic Dialogue, the Oil and Gas Industry Forum, and the Energy Policy Dialogue; and
  • Bolster these and other dialogues by sponsoring public-private forums and high-level conferences.
