China-U.S. Financial Reform and Innovation Summit Tianjin, January 10 & 11, 2008
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the American Chamber of Commerce in China, in collaboration with the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, will jointly host the first China-U.S. Financial Reform and Innovation Summit in Tianjin on January 10 & 11, 2008.
To enhance China's sustained and healthy economic growth, Premier Wen Jiabao and China's leadership have placed the modernization of China's financial sector at the top of the policy agenda. The development of the Tianjin Binhai New Area (TBNA) is a main focus of China's latest Five-Year Plan, and the State Council has approved financial reform and innovation plans to be first tested here. Tianjin's financial reform could serve as a model for other provinces and municipalities in China, and thereby have broader applicability with respect to national-level policies governing liberalization of financial services markets in China.
The China-U.S. Financial Reform and Innovation Summit will provide a platform for robust, interactive dialogue between senior international business executives and the Tianjin municipal government. Among a range of pertinent topics, speeches at the conference will discuss innovative financial products, financing and investment instruments, capital markets, and international best practices in risk management.
