April 19, 2013: Chamber President and CEO Tom Donohue stressed the importance of transatlantic trade, in particular with TTIP. April 10, 2013: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce joins business and government leaders at the Capitol Building to formally announce the launch of the Business Coalition for Transatlantic Trade (BCTT). BCTT brings together business from both sides of the Atlantic to seek a comprehensive agreement that would increase trade, employment and promote growth and competition. March 20, 2013: U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior VP on International Affairs Myron Brilliant commented in an article written in The Hill after the White House announced negotiations for T-TIP. March 18, 2013: The U.S Chamber of Commerce hosted Ireland’s Prime Minister Taoiseach Enda Kenny. Prime Minister Kenny spoke about Ireland’s presidency of the EU and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. March 12th: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce was quoted in an article exploring the effects of the inclusion of Turkey in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. March 8, 2013: Jerry Blackett from the Birmingham Post gives a different perspective on the TTIP from across the Atlantic. Blackett brings up issues and concerns from the European side, and pushes for more private advocacy. March 4, 2013: Richard Quest of CNN interviewed U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior VP of International Affairs Myron Brilliant live to discuss the benefits and challenges of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. Brilliant staunchly defended TTIP amidst Quest’s doubts on the feasibility of the agreement. Brilliant estimates that an agreement could be reached within a few years. February 13th: U.S. Chamber VP of Europe in Brussels Peter Chase was quoted in the New York Times discussing Obama’s new trade talks with the EU. Chase says the benefits of a Free Trade Agreement will mean up to $450 million in savings for the aircraft industry alone. For the full article please click here

January 27, 2013: Tom Donohue spoke to the New York Time in Davos, Switzerland at the World Economic Forum. Donohue encourages negotiation to increase trade and gives an 18 month estimated time for completion. For the full article please click here.

January 24, 2013: U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Donohue was quoted in the New York Times in an article focusing on Angela Merkel’s concerns on the economy. November 27, 2012: Peter Chase, Vice President for European Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Brussels, had a conversation with Dr. Hosuk Lee-Makiyama, Director of the European Centre for International Political Economy concerning the prospects of an EU-U.S. Free Trade Agreement. November 22, 2012: Peter Chase, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice President in Brussels spoke on a panel sponsored by the Transatlantic Institute about the recent U.S. election and President Obama’s second term. The second panel, of which Chase participated in, addressed the economic situation of the U.S. and EU, trade and the possible benefits of a Free Trade Agreement. November 13, 2012: British American Business hosted an event “The West and Asia – Partners or Competitors?” The topic of conversation revolved around trade and the political economy between the two world areas.
