U.S. Chamber Supports Goals of Jobs and Competitiveness Council
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue issued the following statement in support of the goals offered by the White House’s Jobs and Competitiveness Council today:
“We are encouraged by the Council’s progress and are confident it will make solid, practical recommendations to spur job growth and economic recovery. The Council has identified many of the most essential areas that must be addressed to put people back to work and grow the economy. This includes improving worker training, boosting travel and tourism, reviving the construction industry, assisting small businesses, and addressing ways to streamline the permitting process, which will speed projects along and help get America building again. The Chamber supports all of these goals and looks forward to the Council’s complete set of recommendations.”
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
