U.S. Chamber Releases New Radio Ads on NLRB’s and DOL’s Aggressive Agenda

WASHINGTON, D.C.—As Congress continues to debate the burdensome regulations stemming from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Department of Labor (DOL), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce today launched a new radio ad campaign to educate lawmakers and the American people on the agencies aggressive and radical pro-union agenda, at the expense of employees and employers. The ad, titled “Common Sense,” reminds Washington that these issues cannot be ignored—the appropriate course of action is to rein in these out of control regulatory agencies.

“When Congress failed to pass the Card Check bill, we knew it was only a matter of time before the administration began using the regulatory process to tilt the playing field in organized labor’s favor,” said Randy Johnson, senior vice president of Labor, Immigration, and Employee Benefits for the U.S. Chamber. “Washington’s focus should be on economic growth and job creation.”

Common Sense” is airing in Florida, Missouri, Montana, and Virginia.

Young woman: This economy is tough and jobs are scarce.

Young man: I know. So why do the President’s appointed bureaucrats and union labor bosses keep making it harder for me to get a job?

Young woman: It’s an outrage that these guys are still more interested helping unions instead of helping people. Rather than creating jobs and getting spending under control, they’re cleverly writing rules to give unions more power, making it harder for American businesses to create jobs.

Young man: What? Favors to unions over jobs? Shocking.

Young woman: Yeah, didn’t they get the message last election? People want jobs, not rules benefiting special interests.

Young man: I guess they didn’t get it, but hopefully now they’ll get the message.
Young woman: I’m calling Congress today. They need to stop government agencies like the National Labor Relations Board from ruining the economy.

Young nab: So, what’s the number for Congress?

Young woman: 202-225-3121. Let’s tell ‘em to focus on growing jobs, not growing unions.

Young man: OK, 202-225-3121. I’m calling them now.
