U.S. Chamber Endorses Mandel for U.S. Senate
Columbus, OH — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce proudly announced its endorsement of Josh Mandel for U.S. Senate this week at a press conference at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. It is the first endorsement event of the 2012 cycle, signifying the importance of Ohio in the effort to achieve a pro-business majority in the U.S. Senate.
“The contrast in this race couldn’t be more clear: Josh Mandel has a plan to create jobs in Ohio and empower the free enterprise system, while Sherrod Brown has a consistent record of failure, supporting bigger, more intrusive government,” said Rob Engstrom, senior vice president and national political director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
In 2010, Senator Brown voted with the business community only 9% of the time, according to the U.S. Chamber's Annual How They Voted Scorecard. Instead of supporting policies to help the business community, Brown was a deciding vote for Obamacare and has been a consistent proponent of job killing regulations and higher energy costs.
This endorsement is part of the organization’s largest voter education effort in its 100 year history, aimed at highlighting candidates’ positions on issues critical to the American economic recovery.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
