U.S. Chamber to Host Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair for Veterans and Military Spouses in Houston

Event Marks Launch of Collaboration with Enterprise Application Software Leader SAP and Hiring Our Heroes
HOUSTON, TX—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation, along with lead sponsor SAP, will host “Hiring Our Heroes – Houston,” a hiring fair for veterans and military spouses. This fair marks the launch of an important relationship as enterprise application software leader SAP becomes the newest member of the Hiring Our Heroes Veterans Employment Advisory Council (VEAC). Last year, SAP established the Veterans to Work program, which provides full scholarships to cover training and certification in the database, analytics, and mobility fields for 1,000 veterans across the country. By joining the VEAC, SAP is taking the next step in its mission to connect veterans to opportunities in the business and IT industries. More than 80 employers are expected to participate with jobs available for veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience. Companies range from America's biggest employers to small companies from across the region.
Since its launch, Hiring Our Heroes has held more than 400 hiring fairs nationwide, helping more than 14,000 veterans and military spouses find employment. This event is also part of Hiring 500,000 Heroes, a national campaign announced by the U.S. Chamber, National Chamber Foundation, and Capital One, to engage the business community in committing to hire 500,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014.
