U.S. Capital Markets in the Global Marketplace
Mission
This Working Group is studying the trends and shifts in global capital formation activity, the reasons for the changes that are occurring and the implications to the U.S. capital markets. To assess the nature and extent of and reasons for the changes in global activity, the Working Group is collecting and studying data from a wide range of sources and seeking input from various entities and people who might provide meaningful insight. These sources include, among others, the World Federation of Exchanges and the research departments at financial services firms, law firms and securities exchanges.
To a large degree, this Working Group overlays and is an amalgamation of all the other Working Groups and, therefore, does not function independently of the others. In some respects, however, this Working Group also has a dual and somewhat conflicting challenge – to consider ways for the U.S. capital markets to win by collaborating with foreign markets.
