U.S. Chamber Unveils National Radio Commentary, Speaking for Business
WASHINGTON, D.C.— United States Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue urges people who depend on employers for health insurance to tell Congress to keep trial lawyers out of American health care in the first of a new twice-weekly national radio commentary.
The inaugural Speaking for Business commentary is scheduled for broadcast on more than 250 radio stations nationwide, Tuesday and Thursday, October 26 and 28. In it, Donohue denounces lawmakers for passing the Norwood-Dingell health care legislation (H.R. 2723), a bill replete with mandates and liability exposure for companies that will drive up the number of uninsured Americans while fattening trial lawyers' wallets.
The Chamber's new pro-business issue advocacy minute will be broadcast each Tuesday and Thursday nationwide on the Talk America Radio Network and globally on the Internet at both the Chamber's web address and at the Talk America site. Or, SFB can be heard by calling the Chamber's toll-free number at 1-888-435-8638. For a complete list of markets and stations, log on to the Chamber's website.
The commentary is underwritten by the Blue Chip Enterprise Award Program, co-sponsored by MassMutual and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking for Business gives us another important communications vehicle to get the pro-business message out," said Donohue, "by radio across the nation and globally through the Internet."
The United States Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector and region.
