U.S. Chamber Forms Alliance with Womenfuture

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States Chamber of Commerce today entered into a partnership agreement with Womenfuture, a provider of interactive leadership and employee development programs, announcing it will sponsor the group's third annual Global Town Hall meeting — MainEvent 2002 — on April 11.

"Womenfuture's MainEvent 2002 is a perfect fit for the Chamber as the voice of business around the globe," said U.S. Chamber vice president Reta Lewis. "The Chamber sponsorship will help MainEvent engage thousands of businessmen and women, influencing the way they live, work, and lead."

The sponsorship activity is part of the Chamber's newly launched Access America initiative to engage minority and women entrepreneurs in a dialog to help them in their everyday work and lives.

The Chamber's Access America will serve on the MainEvent 2002 advisory board along with major corporations and media organizations. The program will be carried live via satellite and web cast at 10:00 a.m. EST on April 11, featuring candid conversations with opinion leaders from government, industry, academia and the media, conducted in New York; Washington, D.C.; and London.

Speakers include: Charlene Barshefsky, senior international partner, Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering; Charlotte Beers, Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs; David Gergen, professor at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government; and Dieter Zetsche, Board of Management DaimlerChrysler and president/CEO Chrysler Group. Speakers will discuss topics including finding heroism in work, thinking globally — acting locally, and developing a powerful network.

Womenfuture is the leading resource of original content that connects the world's most extraordinary leaders with individuals and organizations in an interactive exchange about leadership, corporate culture and diversity, resulting in positive change.
