U.S. Chamber Endorses Nancy Johnson in CT-5 Congressional Race

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Rep. Nancy Johnson in Connecticut's 5th district congressional election.

"Nancy Johnson is running for Congress on a solidly pro-business platform, including tax relief, limited government and economic expansion," said Bill Miller, Chamber political director and vice president for public affairs.

Throughout her 10-term tenure, Johnson has a proven track record of cutting taxes, promoting free trade and supporting common-sense liability and regulatory reform initiatives. She has risen to position of Chairman of the Health Subcommittee on the House Ways and Means Committee and has become a leading advocate for the business community on health care issues.

"Nancy Johnson understands that America's businesses hold the key to creating jobs and spreading economic prosperity," Miller added. "The Chamber believes she will continue to be an effective legislator who will vigorously support businesses, small and large, on critical issues like taxes, health care, and legal reform."

The U.S. Chamber endorses congressional candidates who have demonstrated support for business and will work to advance a pro-business agenda in Congress.
