Chamber Welcomes Steps Toward Saudi Accession to WTO

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The United States Chamber of Commerce Director of Middle East and Africa Affairs Daeman Harris today issued the following statement concerning the U.S.-Saudi Arabia World Trade Organization Accession Agreement:

"We applaud the U.S. Trade Representative and Saudi trade negotiators on the completion of a bilateral market access agreement. Free and fair trade between the United States and Saudi Arabia fosters economic and social development. We especially welcome this critical step toward the Kingdom's accession to the WTO.

"The market access commitments Saudi Arabia makes as it moves to full participation in the WTO will provide opportunities for U.S. companies to invest in and supply goods and services to Saudi Arabia."

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
