U.S. Chamber Hires Janet Kavinoky to Lead Transportation Lobbying Efforts

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The United States Chamber of Commerce has hired Janet F. Kavinoky to lead its transportation lobbying efforts as director of Congressional and Public Affairs and executive director of the Chamber's transportation coalition.

"Janet is an excellent addition to the Chamber's lobbying team," said Thomas Donohue, Chamber president and CEO. "Her background and experience make her a perfect fit to lead the legislative efforts on an issue that will continue to be a major priority for the Chamber and its members."

Kavinoky was also named executive director of the Americans for Transportation Mobility (ATM) coalition. ATM is a national coalition of transportation providers and users working to promote greater investment in the nation's transportation infrastructure and a safer, more efficient transportation system. Kavinoky will be assisted by Lisa Mark, recently hired to be the Chamber's manager of transportation issues.

Before joining the Chamber, Kavinoky was a project director for Business Development and Transportation Finance at the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) where she provided funding and finance expertise and was a member of the group's advocacy team. She has also served as special assistant to the secretary of the U.S.

Department of Transportation and a consultant to the California Department of Transportation. Kavinoky holds a bachelor's degree in political economy from the University of Wyoming and a master's in business administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

The U.S. Chamber is the world's largest business federation, representing more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector and region.
