Chamber Appoints Ann Beauchesne Head of Homeland Security Division
Washington, DC - Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced the promotion of Ann Beauchesne to head its Homeland Security Division. Since joining the Chamber, Beauchesne has focused on building and maintaining relationships with administration and regulatory agency officials to ensure business has a voice in the development of homeland security policies and strategies.
"Ann is a perfect fit to head the Chamber's homeland security department," said Dan Christman, U.S. Chamber of Commerce senior vice president of international affairs. "In this role, Ann will ensure that American businesses and their concerns are fully integrated in the development of homeland security policy and planning."
The Chamber's goals for the homeland security program this year are to work with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to ensure the private sector is fully engaged with homeland security directors at the state level and to institutionalize the private sector's inclusion at all levels of government in homeland security planning, training and exercising. She will also focus on internationally shared challenges such as supply chain security.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Beauchesne served as Director of the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division at the National Governors Association where she identified policy priorities for Governors and their homeland security advisors. She wrote extensively on issues related to homeland security, terrorism, emergency management, natural disasters, and nuclear weapons. In addition, she drafted the first ever Governors' Guide to Homeland Security.
The U.S. Chamber is the world's largest business federation representing more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
