Jim Whitehead Garners U.S. Chamber's Endorsement In Special Election in Georgia-10

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The United States Chamber of Commerce announced today that it has formally endorsed former State Sen. Jim Whitehead in the special election in Georgia's 10th Congressional District to replace the late Rep. Charlie Norwood.

"Jim Whitehead sees the big picture – as a small business owner himself, he understands that America's businesses are the sparkplug for economic prosperity and job growth," said Bill Miller, Chamber senior vice president and political director. "He's earned the U.S. Chamber's endorsement because we believe he will support business, both large and small, on issues such as taxes, health care and legal and regulatory reform."

Whitehead has the respect and backing of both state and national leaders and has a distinguished career in public service both in the Georgia State Senate and as Columbia County Commissioner. Whitehead is also a successful small business owner and operates three businesses in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA).

The U.S. Chamber has become a major player in national elections, endorsing candidates who have demonstrated support for business priorities and will work to advance a pro-growth agenda in Congress.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses of every size, sector and region.
