Chamber Seeks Nominations for Corporate Citizenship Awards

WASHINGTON, DC-The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) has opened the nomination period for the 2007 Corporate Citizenship Awards. The awards recognize businesses and chambers of commerce that have made extraordinary contributions to their communities.

"BCLC's Corporate Citizenship Awards program helps to create a better understanding and raise awareness of the positive contributions that businesses make to society," said BCLC Executive Director Stephen Jordan. "In an era where the news tends to focus on things that go wrong, this is our way of shining a spotlight on what works."

Corporate Citizenship Awards will be presented in four categories: Corporate Stewardship, U.S. Community Service, International Community Service, and Partnership.

To be eligible, award candidates must be members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Companies, trade associations, and chambers may nominate themselves or be nominated by nonprofits or other third parties.

Electronic submissions will be accepted until Friday, June 29 at 5 p.m. Finalists will be publicly announced at a luncheon on September 6. Winners will be revealed at the Eighth Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards Dinner on November 7 in Washington, DC.

Nomination forms and more information about the awards are available online at www.uschamber.comhttp://www.uschamber.com/bclc/awards. Nominators can also call BCLC at 202-463-3133.
