U.S. Chamber Endorses Ohio Senator Stivers for Congress
State Senator an Ally to Businesses and Workers
WASHINGTON, D.C.-The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Ohio state Senator Steve Stivers for Congress in Ohio's 15th Congressional District, praising his strong support for the state's businesses, both large and small.
"Steve Stivers has been a champion for the people of central Ohio and an invaluable leader on important business issues," said Bill Miller, the U.S. Chamber's senior vice president and political director. "The Chamber believes Senator Stivers will continue to be an effective legislator and supporter of businesses of every size if re-elected."
Senator Stivers worked to advocate programs and initiatives important to central Ohio regarding economic development, job creation, and tort reform.
"On issues ranging from economic competitiveness to fiscal responsibility, Ohio's business community has no better friend than Steve Stivers," said Miller.
The U.S. Chamber is playing a major role in the upcoming national elections, endorsing candidates who have demonstrated support for business priorities and will work to advance a pro-growth agenda in Congress. In 2006, 222 of the 277 Chamber endorsed candidates were elected.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
