U.S. Chamber Endorses Pete Olson
"An invaluable leader on important business issues," Miller Says
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Pete Olson for election in Texas' 22nd Congressional District, praising his strong support for Texas' businesses and workers.
"Pete Olson will be a champion for the people of eastern Texas and an invaluable leader on important business issues," said Bill Miller, the U.S. Chamber's senior vice president and political director. "The Chamber believes Olson will prove to be an effective legislator and supporter of businesses of every size if elected."
A strong proponent of small business health plans, Olson also worked to outline initiatives important to eastern Texas regarding energy exploration and tax reform.
"On issues ranging from economic competitiveness to fiscal responsibility, Texas' businesses and workers have no better friend than Pete Olson," said Miller.
The U.S. Chamber is playing a major role in the upcoming national elections, endorsing candidates who have demonstrated support for business priorities and will work to advance a pro-growth agenda in Congress. In 2006, 222 of the 277 Chamber endorsed candidates were elected.
The U.S. Chamber is the world's largest business federation representing more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
