U.S. Chamber Endorses Senator Roger Wicker
On Issues Ranging from Legal Reform to Energy, Senator Stands by Businesses and Workers
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) for election, praising his strong support for Mississippi's businesses, workers and communities.
"Roger Wicker has been a champion for the people of Mississippi and an invaluable leader on important business issues," said Bill Miller, the U.S. Chamber's senior vice president and national political director. "By continuing to put the priorities of his state's businesses and workers first, we believe Senator Wicker will be a leader in creating economic growth and jobs."
Senator Wicker stood with the U.S. Chamber by helping to end lawsuit abuse, repeal of the death tax, small business health plans, and expanding exploration for energy sources. He has also played a prominent role in passing legislation to expand community development and strengthen American manufacturers' fundamental position in the economy.
"On issues ranging from curtailing frivolous lawsuits to energy security, Mississippi's local communities and businesses have no better friend in Washington than Roger Wicker," said Miller.
The U.S. Chamber has become a major player in national elections, endorsing candidates who have demonstrated support for business priorities and will work to advance a pro-growth agenda in Congress. In 2006, 222 of the 277 Chamber endorsed candidates were elected.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
