U.S. Chamber Endorses Rep. Walter Jones
Representative an Ally to Business Community
WASHINGTON, D.C.-The United States Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC-3) for re-election, praising his strong support for North Carolina businesses, both large and small.
"Walter Jones has been a champion for the people of eastern North Carolina and an invaluable leader on important business issues," said Bill Miller, Chamber senior vice president and political director. "The Chamber believes Representative Jones will continue to be an effective legislator and supporter of businesses of every size if re-elected."
A member of the Financial Services Committee, Rep. Jones has led on a number of issues important to North Carolina's banking sector and has also been a vocal advocate for small businesses.
"On issues including ranging from tax relief to education, North Carolina's business community has no better friend than Walter Jones," said Miller.
The U.S. Chamber plans to play a big role in the upcoming national elections, endorsing candidates who have demonstrated support for business priorities and will work to advance a pro-growth agenda in Congress. In 2006, 222 of the 277 Chamber endorsed candidates were elected.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
