Brilliant to Lead U.S. Chamber's International Division
Succeeds LTG (Ret.) Dan Christman
WASHINGTON, DC—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today named Myron Brilliant senior vice president of International Affairs, where he will lead the organization's efforts to maintain an open trading system that benefits America's businesses and workers.
"Myron brings a wealth of experience to a position that is more important than ever," said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber. "As the world's largest exporter of goods and services, American businesses operate in an economy that is increasingly interconnected, where most of our customers live outside of the United States. Myron's team is on the front lines of expanding our overseas opportunities for these companies while advocating trade agreements and combating isolationist tendencies at home."
Brilliant will be responsible for driving the International Affairs strategy for the U.S. Chamber, as well as the day-to-day management of the 70-person division. This includes four regional teams, various country-specific business councils, an international policy team and relations with 112 AmChams located in 99 countries.
Brilliant previously served as vice president for the Chamber's Asia division, where he worked to advance America's business interests in the region. He has led numerous broad-based business coalitions focused on diverse areas including China, free trade agreements, and the International Monetary Fund.
Prior to joining the Chamber in 1994 as the director of Trade Policy for Asia, Brilliant was an attorney for international corporate clients, focusing on U.S. trade laws.
Brilliant succeeds LTG (Ret.) Dan W. Christman, who will continue to serve as a senior counselor to the Chamber.
"Dan Christman has greatly elevated the Chamber's international presence through his ability to communicate the Chamber's messages here and abroad," Donohue said. "He will continue to serve the business community with his extensive knowledge and expertise as our senior international counselor."
