U.S. Chamber Recognizes Gary Mabrey for Exceptional Service
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today honored Gary Mabrey, president and CEO of the Johnson City Jonesborough Washington County Chamber of Commerce, for six years of exceptional service on the U.S. Chamber Board of Directors. Mabrey stepped down from the position he has held since 2003 and into a new role on the Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100 (CCC100), an elite group of chamber executives representing the perspectives and needs of chambers and their members to the U.S. Chamber.
"Gary has been a respected voice in helping the Chamber set its agenda and formulate goal-oriented strategies on key issues," said U.S. Chamber President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue. "His presence will be sorely missed at our board meetings but the Chamber will continue to benefit from his leadership on the CCC100."
As a member of the U.S. Chamber Board of Directors, Mabrey served as Chairman of the Bylaws Committee for four years. He also served as a vocal member of the Council on Small Business and helped pioneer the Chamber's Federation Partnership program. He was instrumental in helping generate attendance at America's Small Business Summit.
In his new role on the CCC100, he will advise the U.S. Chamber on emerging issues that impact local chambers and their members and provide feedback on policy-related issues.
The U.S. Chamber is the world's largest business federation representing more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.
