U.S. Chamber Taps AMCHAM Korea President to Lead Asia Division
Overby Brings More Than Two Decades of Experience to International Team
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced today that Tami Overby has been hired as vice president for Asia. Effective immediately, Overby will fill the position vacated by Myron Brilliant who was recently promoted to lead the Chamber's international efforts as senior vice president of international affairs.
"She will drive the Chamber's work in the Asia-Pacific," said Brilliant who has worked with Overby for 15 years on U.S.-Korea commercial issues. "Her energy, passion, commitment, and knowledge about the region will be great assets to the Chamber which runs the largest Asia trade program in Washington."
In her new position, Overby will be responsible for developing, promoting, and executing Chamber programs and policy relating to U.S. trade and investment in Asia. Overby will work with Chamber members, business coalitions, American Chambers of Commerce, government leaders, and business executives to promote the Chamber's Asia agenda.
Overby has lived and worked in South Korea for the past 21 years. She leaves her position as president & CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea where she led the effort to promote economic relations between Korea and the United States. Prior to becoming president & CEO of the American Chamber in 2006, Overby spent over ten years as the American Chamber's executive director, where she was responsible for managing day-to-day operations for the Chamber.
