Comey Elected Chairman of National Chamber Litigation Center
Lockheed Martin Executive to Advocate for Businesses in the Courts
WASHINGTON, D.C. —The Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber's National Chamber Litigation Center (NCLC) elected James B. Comey as Chairman of the Board today. Mr. Comey is currently Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Lockheed Martin Corporation and has been a member of NCLC's Board of Directors since 2005.
"Jim is widely regarded as one of the country's most distinguished attorneys," said Robin Conrad, NCLC's executive vice president. "Jim's tremendous experience in government and business make him the perfect person to lead the expansion of NCLC's advocacy efforts."
Mr. Comey is a 1982 honors graduate of the College of William & Mary and received his juris doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1985. Prior to joining Lockheed Martin in 2005, Mr. Comey served as Deputy Attorney General of the United States and was responsible for supervising the operations of the Department of Justice.
Mr. Comey has also served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and as Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia. While in Richmond, Mr. Comey also served as an Adjunct Professor of law at the University of Richmond. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney's office, he was a partner at McGuireWoods, LLP specializing in criminal defense and commercial litigation.

Comey succeeds William T. Torgerson, who recently retired as Vice Chairman, Chief Legal Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI).
