U.S. Chamber Welcomes White House Summit on Job Creation
Forum Dovetails with Recently Launched Campaign for Free Enterprise
WASHINGTON, D.C.-The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Managing Vice President for the American Free Enterprise. Dream Big. campaign Brian Gunderson issued the following statement today regarding the administration's intention to host a forum next month to discuss ways to create more jobs:
"With our nation's unemployment now at more than 10% we are delighted that the president announced plans to advance the dialogue about job creation by hosting a White House forum on this critical topic. The forum dovetails well with the U.S. Chamber's American Free Enterprise. Dream Big. campaign launched last month to stir a national dialogue about the need to create 20 million new jobs in America over the next decade.
"We encourage the White House to use this forum to seek job creation strategies from a wide cross-section of voices regardless of their political ideology, business size or sector, or geographical location and to engage participants in a thoughtful discussion that can lead to real results.
"We welcome the president's initiative on this critical issue and pledge to work in any way we can to help make this gathering a valuable dialogue. We look forward to working together with the administration to identify strategies to support America's free enterprise system and to meet our national jobs challenge."
