U.S. Chamber Endorses Burns for Congress in Pennsylvania's Special Election
'A Proven Job Creator in the Keystone State,' Miller Says
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Tim Burns for election to Congress in Pennsylvania's 12th District, praising his success as a business leader and commitment to supporting the state's job creators and workers.
"We're endorsing Tim Burns because he has a proven record of creating jobs and will stand up for the people of Pennsylvania," said Bill Miller, the U.S. Chamber's senior vice president and political director. "He will be an invaluable leader on important business issues. We're confident that Tim will look out for businesses of all sizes."
Burns started his own pharmacy company in his basement that grew to employ more than 400 people. He understands the importance of fiscal responsibility and implementing common sense policies that create jobs.
"On issues ranging from controlling energy and health care costs to improving access to health care, Pennsylvania businesses and workers will have no better friend in Congress than Tim Burns," Miller said.
The U.S. Chamber plans to play a major role nationwide in the 2010 elections, endorsing candidates who have demonstrated support for pro-business policies and a willingness to advance a pro-growth agenda in Congress.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
