U.S. Chamber's Donohue Praises Tauzin's Leadership at PhRMA
WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue issued the following statement on the departure of PhRMA's Billy Tauzin:
"For more than five years, Billy Tauzin has represented PhRMA members with energy, passion, and integrity. He remains one of the most respected, trusted, and influential people in this town. The Chamber and I have been proud to work with him on many important health care issues.
"While Billy's career in Washington is legendary, what's often overlooked is the tremendous work he does to fight disease worldwide. He is a tireless advocate for the kind of research and development that lead to breakthrough drugs. He is passionate about expanding access to lifesaving medicines.
"He will be missed at PhRMA. He's a great friend and we wish him well in his future endeavors and look forward to working with him again."
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
