Tampa-Based Financial Services Provider Presented Award at America's Small Business Summit 2010
WASHINGTON, D.C.—At America's Small Business Summit 2010 today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce presented Financial Information Technologies, Inc. (Fintech) with the Small Business of the Year 2010 Award. The award honors the Tampa-based financial services provider for showcasing exemplary business practices in the areas of staff training and motivation, community involvement, customer service, and business and financial planning.
"Times are tough but Fintech has shown us that great businesses can weather a storm and still be successful," said Thomas J. Donohue, U.S. Chamber president and CEO. "Fintech may be a small business but it has made an enormous impact."
From the U.S. Chamber's seventy-five Blue Ribbon Small Business Award winners, seven regional finalists were selected from across the country. Fintech received the final award today during a luncheon at America's Small Business Summit 2010.
America's Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Sam's Club, pays tribute to companies showcasing exemplary business practices in the areas of staff training and motivation, community involvement, customer service, and business and financial planning.
Since 1991, Fintech has offered electronic fund and data transfers for alcohol retailers nationwide. Led by company CEO Scott Riley, Fintech serves 1,300 distributors nationwide, including grocery stores, restaurants, hotels, and wholesale retailers.
